What Chinese Herbal Medicine Taught Me About My Identity
Growing up Asian-American can be tough. Millie had to deal with that, and her mother having a breast cancer diagnosis four years ago. For a long time the stressors got to her. To integrate she pushed away her Asian side, which included her mother's love for Chinese herbal medicine. However, doing slow planted a seed of rejection towards her Asian identity which blossomed into hatred. That hatred remained, until she had a certain conversation with her Mom that altered the course of her life and helped her get to where she is today.
